This premium high-rise residential development is now a key landmark at the heart of the City of London. It features 463 luxury homes, a hotel, commercial space and landscaped gardens with dedicated play areas for younger visitors. Walsh’s practical and construction orientated approach was put to good use on this constrained inner-city site. It was important to minimise disruption to the area and surrounding transport links during construction. Our engineers designed complex foundations to bridge services, sequence works and devise a temporary works solution. Through using Building Information Modelling (BIM) and coordinating seamlessly with the project’s architects, we engineered a fast and efficient programme. Due to this, and our focus on sustainability, we were reduced embodied carbon by 26% to 250kg of carbon per square metre. Our role also meant liaising with Transport for London and London Underground Limited on behalf of our client to gain the required approvals throughout. They were granted with minimal queries or delay.
